The new 38mm Fifty Fathoms collection

Last week Blancpain launched two playful models of the Fifty Fathoms in the new 38mm size. Those two timepieces are more than noteworthy in their own right, but there’s a lot more since there are 3 additional members of reference 5007 in satin brushed titanium, polished stainless steel and satin brushed red gold. Let‘s take a closer look at the official Blancpain material on the entire new FF 5007 family.

Two playful models with MOP dials and no date

Blancpain dedicates two Fifty Fathoms 5007 to women: one timepiece combing a brushed titanium case with a radiant petal Mother of Pearl dial and a pink luminescent bezel, the other featuring a polished red gold case, a black sapphire bezel and a striking dégradé Mother of Pearl dial.

Both timepieces come without a date function, caliber 1153 offers 100 hours of power reserve, the typical Fifty Fathoms decoration and is visible through sapphire case backs.

With 38.2mm diameter, 12mm height and 19mm between the lugs the typical and iconic case of the Fifty Fathoms is again faithfully transferred to a new size.

The pink model in titanium comes on a two piece Nato strap with tang buckle under reference 5007-12B44R-NAFA or alternatively on a titanium bracelet under reference 5007-12B44R-98S.

The black model in red gold comes under reference 5007-3644A and with Sailcloth or Tropic strap with either tang or deployant buckle as well as Nato strap on tang buckle. A gold bracelet is not available.

The more traditional Fifty Fathoms 5007 models

No less exciting are the three additional models of the 38.2mm Fifty Fathoms family launched June 17, all these feature a date function as a notable difference to the above mentioned watches.

There is a brushed red gold FF 5007 with a blue dial, reference 5007-36B40, available on Sailcloth or Tropic with either tang or deployant buckle and Nato strap on tang buckle.

Another blue dial version comes in satin brushed titanium, with the same strap/buckle alternatives but also the option of a titanium bracelet under reference 5007 12B40 98S.

And then there’s the stainless steel Fifty Fathoms 5007 with black dial, also available in all strap/clasp configurations and a full stainless steel bracelet.

All versions are equipped with caliber 1150, offering 4 days of power reserve and oscillating at 3Hz. the movement is beautifully finished in the typical Fifty Fathoms style.

With this family of new 38mm models Blancpain adds an important size to the  Fifty Fathoms lineup. The iconic design with the beautifully rounded shapes and sapphire bezel inlay works in all three sizes of 45mm, 42mm and now 38mm.

With a height of only 12mm the new size has found a harmonious aesthetic case balance, the 19mm between the lugs are the result of a careful design translation from the 45mm down.

You find the new Fifty Fathoms 5007 collection here on the Blancpain website. A hands-on with the stainless steel black dial and the titanium blue dial versions will be released soon in this blog.
