The 2022 novelties so far

Just like in the past two years we likely learn about the Blancpain novelties at different points throughout the year. I will try to do my best to provide hands-on photos of all new timepieces if at all possible, this blog post however is meant to provide you with an overview on all officially released models based on the Blancpain press information as we go. As usual this overview will be updated whenever new models are released.

Two new Bathyscaphe 5200 (September)

Today, September 29, two new versions of the Bathyscaphe Chronographe Flyback 5200 were introduced.

.

Just like with the Bathyscaphe 5054 earlier this year, titanium grade 23 and red gold find their way to broaden an existing Bathyscaphe bestseller. The titanium version features an anthracite dial with a grey radial brushed ceramic bezel inlay, the red gold 5200 features a blue dial with a radial brushed ceramic bezel inlay in the same color.

Both versions are available on sailcloth or Nato strap, with the titanium 5200 having the additional option of the grade 23 titanium bracelet.

Below you find the press release and the data sheets.

Two new Bathyscaphe 5054 (June)

Today, June 16, Blancpain introduced two new versions of the very popular Bathyscaphe Quantieme Complet ref 5054.

.

A version in titanium grade 23 features a grey sunburst dial and a grey brushed ceramic bezel, like we know it from the titanium Bathyscaphe 5000 from 2021. The watch is available on Nato or sailcloth strap and the gorgeous titanium bracelet.

The red gold 5054 (notably not Sedna gold) has a blue sunburst dial and comes on either Nato or sailcloth strap.

Here are the press release and the data sheets:

The new Air Command AC03 (May)

Today, May 18, Blancpain rather surprisingly introduced smaller versions of the Air Command AC02 in titanium and red gold.

The new reference AC03 comes with a 36.2mm case , housing caliber F188B, a derivative of the famous caliber F185.

Please find a first blog post on the two new Air Command AC03 here in the blog.

A boutique only Villeret Traditional Chinese Calendar (January)

2022 starts as it ended in terms of new timepieces: with a Traditional Chinese Calendar. On January 14 Blancpain unveiled a boutique only edition in addition to the annual version released just one month ago.

So far I have no press release and technical data sheet to share, so a few photos have to do for this special red gold timepiece with a striking blue Grand Feu enamel dial.

.

The 2022 Saint Valentin (January)

On January 17 Blancpain introduced the 2022 Saint Valentin watch, limited to 99 pieces.

The 34.9mm timepiece is made from white gold, features diamond bezel and a white mother-of-pearl dial with red painted numerals and an inner diamond ring. The cupid’s arrow second hand is a subtle nod to Saint Valentine’s Day, as is the red cabochon in the crown.

The 2022 Saint Valentin can be found here on the Blancpain website. An overview on all Saint Valentin pieces can be found here in the blog.

All photos, press releases and technical sheets are copyright Blancpain.

This overview will updated as the year progresses.
