The 2025 novelties so far

Just like in the past years we are supposed to learn about the Blancpain novelties at different points throughout the year. This overview will be updated whenever new models are released, and as usual I will try to do my best to provide hands-on photos of many new timepieces as soon as possible.

The Grande Double Sonnerie

Today, November 24, Blancpain introduced their most comlicated timepiece ever, the Grande Double Sonnerie refrence 15GSQ. There is so much to say about this exceptional piece of art, so please find my comprehensive introduction to it here or the dedicated page on the Blancpain website here.

The Bathyscaphe Blue Abyss

Today, November 5, two surprising new Bathyscaphe models were introduced. Both go by the name Blue Abyss, featuring a blue ceramic case in combination with a blue ceramic bezel insert and a blue sunburst dial. The difference between the two timepieces is at the same time a true highlight: for the first time the Bathyscaphe offers luminous bezel numerals and markers.

Reference 5000A 0640 O52A features bright blue SuperLuminova glowing blue while reference 5000 0640 O52A has a vanilla colored luminous material glowing green.

Next you find the technical data on both variants, the watches can be found here on the Blancpain website.

A facelift for the Villeret line (Oct 15)

Today, October 15, Blancpain introduced a new generation of the Villeret line featuring a plentiful of subtle yet meaningful changes.

The facelift of the Villeret line is documented in a designated article here in the blog, for this novelties overview let me limit it to the data sheets for the red gold models.

A standard collection Fifty Fathoms Tech (Jul 22)

Today, July 22, Blancpain introduced the first standard collection Fifty Fathoms Tech, featuring a 45mm titanium grade 23 case and a new quick release system to allow for tool-free strap changes. The timepiece comes with a choice between 3 strap colors and different strap lengths.

The absolute black dial (absorbing 97% of light) features luminescent block numerals and indices. The Tech signature and the seconds hand are executed in bright orange lacquer. The watch is powered by caliber 1315A with 5 days of power reserve, visible through a sapphire back.

Here you find the press release and the technical data sheet:

Three more 38mm Fifty Fathoms models (Jun 17)

Today, June 17, Blancpain added three additional 38mm Fifty Fathoms to the new reference 5007 family: red gold or titanium with blue dial and stainless steel with black dial, all in various strap/bracelet configurations.

Since there’s a lot of say about these I issued an overview on the entire Fifty Fathoms 5007 collection, please find it here in the blog.

The Fifty Fathoms 5007 models can also be found here on the Blancpain website.

Two playful 38mm Fifty Fathoms models with MOP dials and no date (Jun 12)

Today, June 12, Blancpain dedicates two Fifty Fathoms in a new 38mm size to women: one timepiece combing a brushed titanium case with a radiant petal Mother of Pearl dial and a pink luminescent bezel, the other featuring a polished red gold case, a black sapphire bezel and a striking dégradé Mother of Pearl dial.

Both timepieces come without a date function, caliber 1153 offers 100 hours of power reserve, the typical Fifty Fathoms decoration and is visible through sapphire case backs.

The pink model in titanium comes on a two piece Nato strap with tang buckle under reference 5007-12B44R-NAFA or alternatively on a titanium bracelet under reference 5007-12B44R-98S.

The black model in red gold comes under reference 5007-3644A and with Sailcloth or Tropic strap with either tang or deployant buckle as well as Nato strap on tang buckle. A gold bracelet is not available.

The Swatch Scuba Fifty Fathoms Green Abyss (Jun 2025)

Today, January 23, Swatch introduced a very compelling new (9th) Scuba Fifty Fathoms, called Green Abyss. The nudibranch featured on the rotor of this Scuba FF is the Felimare Picta, also known as Regal Sea Godess. This new piece for the first time combines the dominant model color (green) with a black bezel, giving it a distinct look. The design is based on the FF Scuba Antarctic Ocean and comes on a two piece Nato strap. The watch is not limited but available through Swatch Boutiques only from June 7th.

Two new Ladybird Colors Phases de Lune models (May 2025)

On May 6 Blancpain added a new Ladybird Colors Phases de Lune version highlighting color purple to the collection.

The timepiece is available in red or white gold with diamonds exceeding 2ct. The purple numerals combined with the purple alligator strap offer a new and vibrant color scheme to the collection.

The Fifty Fathoms Tech Ocean Commitment IV

This new iteration of the Fifty Fathoms Tech is two mm smaller in diameter than the 2023 FF 70th Anniversary Act 2 Tech Gombessa. With a height of only 14.1mm and the integrated rubber strap the FF Tech Ocean Commitment IV is ideal for daily wear but still a professional dive instrument.

As an identifying detail the BOC logo is engraved in the 18ct gold rotor and the timepiece has the TECH signature and the central seconds hand executed in a (new) shade of blue.
