I came across a brand new iteration of the Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe reference 5000, made in a limited run of 50 pieces for the 50th anniversary of Cortina Watch in Singapore. Let’s take a look at the first two-tone Bathyscaphe.

.
The combination of titanium and red gold is not new for Blancpain: in the mid 2000s the Leman GMT Reveil was made in exactly that configuration, and it looked stunning.
Now we rather unexpectedly see it realized with a limited edition Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Singapore retailer Cortina Watch, and it works beautifully again.

.
Based on the Bathyscaphe Titanium from 2021, this timepiece features some distinctive golden highlights: the bezel, crown, hands, dial indices and tang buckle are crafted from Sedna Gold, the bezel indications are made from Ceragold.
The two-tone execution works very well with the anthracite vertically brushed dial and the brushed ceramic bezel insert. It transforms the rather stealthy titanium Bathyscaphe into an eye-catching timepiece.

.
The watch celebrates the 50th anniversary of Cortina Watch with an inside print on the backside crystal. Unfortunately this partly blocks the view on caliber 1315 in typical decoration.

.
The Bathyscaphe Titanium/Sedna Gold is exclusively available at Cortina Watch. The launch is accompanied by a specially curated Fifty Fathoms Bathyscaphe exhibition at the Paragon Shopping Centre main atrium in Singapore from May 23 to June 5 2022.
You find this celebratory Bathyscaphe here on the Cortina Watch website. My hands-on essay on the standard titanium Bathyscaphe can be found here, the above mentioned Leman GMT Reveil two-tone is briefly featured here in the blog.
